Default Rod colour

Does the colour of a rod make any difference when it comes to actually fishing? i.e. do the fish give a damn whether the rod is red, blue, black or some bright pink colour? Or is the colour of the rod simply nothing more than personal choice?

It's said a matt black creates less rod flash, but hard to beat a deep Winston green

Rod flash I'd put down more to whether it was a matt or gloss finish, which could apply to any colour. I personally don't think the fish give a damn as to the colour of the rod and if you were fishing up stream chances are they'd never even see the rod at all.

Some colours of green make a rod look better than others. At the end of the day it's all about personal choice or no choice if you want a specific rod.
