Default Micro guides

Hi mates!!
I'm going to build a new rod for czech nymphing. I would like to build a 10"#3. I think that guides could be micro. Is it possible? What do you think could be the best model i should buy??
The blank could be the ESN that i'm earning for.
I apreciate advices!! Thanks

Mmmm,
Interesting concept and probably would be no good in areas where it snows as they will quickly freeze up.
I would go the other way personally as I think small rings place too much friction on the line and will slow it up. But for your use stye may be okay.

Assuming there is some prospect of fly line passing through the guides I'd go for 2/0 snakes or size 0 single foot snakes ideally light wire - diameter about 5mm

Single foot guides - stripper #10, #3, #2, #1 then 7 or 8 #0's and a standard loop light wire tiptop.

I don't know what you consider to be micro guides, but if it is lightness what you want out of this, surely you can't get any lighter then recoils.. I tend to use the RSFX as opposed to the RSF because they make no noise.. If you do not have to pass through big knots you could go as small as you want but i wouldn't go any smaller then 2/0 for regular snakes..

Thanks mates, i think the recoil RSF light should be the choice.
What sizes should buy for building a 10"3#??

Well the RSF start from size 1 which is slightly smaller then the H&H size 1.. Being a three weight i will start from there.. I think you will use this rod for its intended purpose so you won't be casting much fly line.. If you do want to cast with the rod i would use the RSFX, still much lighter then anything out there but they cast a lot better because they don't tend to vibrate during casting... The only thing i want to warn you about is that you need to use a forhan wrap, especially if you are going to use the RSF's..

Have fun and show us some pictures when the rod is done..

What he said. I'd go with #1 or #2 single foot recoils all the way back to the middle of the rod. I'd use a #10 or #8 light stripping guide, one #4 or so recoil next, then the #1's. Only thing to check is how you rig your fly lines. If you use loop connections, then I'd bump to 2's and a standard diameter tip top loop. If you use a nail knot and lighter leaders then you'll be fine with 1's.

Thanks,
Rick

Size Spacing
Guide 1 1t 6
Guide 2 1t 12-1/16
Guide 3 1t 18-1/4
Guide 4 1t 24-5/16
Guide 5 1 30-5/8
Guide 6 1 38-1/8
Guide 7 2 46-7/8
Guide 8 2 56-1/4
Guide 9 3 65-13/16
Guide 10 4 76
Guide 11 12J 87-1/2
This is the guide chart from Sage. Could anybody translate this to metric? I don't know how to translate 12-1/16...
Thanks Jerry and Rick. Acording with your advices, that i'm gratefull to, i make a gide chart, 4 guides size 1, 3 guides size 2, 2 guides size 3 and 2 stripping guides size 8. I use light tippets 6x and 7x. Thanks mates!!

I strongly suggest you spend an hour or two to get the guide spacing right using this method, no chart or calculator will do the job properly
Rodbuilding.org - Static Guide Placement

an inch is 2.54 cm, why ask someone else to do the math?

The first guide should be 10-15 cm from tiptop, the stripper about 75cm from the butt

Hook and Hackle are about the cheapest place to buy recoils

Thanks Taniwha!!
The spacing chart is given by Sage.
I apreciate the advice of hook and hackle. I sent a mail to Ron and he answer as soon as he read it. Prices in rec's are better than in others known shops and the shipping to Spain is so good!!
Thanks mate!!!
