Default Line up marks

Hi,I've just bought 2 identical diamondback rods. One is a 6# and the other a 7#.They do not have the line up marks at the joints and thought I would add some in a different colour for each rod as the sections do seem interchangeable. What do you recommend? I have some airfix type modeling paint and also some tulip t-shirt paint, would these do?

Cheers

I would like to do this with all of my rods - I have complete OCD about lining up the rings and spend 10 minutes putting a rod together The only thing is; if I am not happy about where I have put the marks on the sections it will only focus and intensify this irrational OCD issue I had better get someone elese to do it for me, then I can blame them

I would put a dot of epoxy finish over the top as the paint may shell off IMO.

why not use different thread colors for each rod? Then you can't mix them up.

Or, if you want to be creative, you can use a jungle cock feather at each end as alignment marks. I have 2 rods where I've done that as something different.

Thanks,
Rick

I built a 4 pc rod recently and made a tiny dot with an orange permanent marker, then touched over very sparingly with sally hansens clear nail varnish. Worked a treat .
