Re: Replacing end ring ?
Tip rings are secured in place with "Hot Melt" glue.
Removal requires you to apply heat from a lighter to the tubular body of the ring to melt the glue so the ring can be twisted off the tip.
Sounds easy - and is easy - so long as you take it easy with the heat,it is made even easier if you have someone to lend a hand.
If you're flying solo I would suggest using a candle as your heat source leaving your hands free to hold the rod and twist the tip off when the glue has melted.
Putting a replacement requires you to heat the tip ring first.then apply a small amount of glue before sliding the ring onto the rod tip.
Given the heat involved, it might be an idea to wear a pair of leather gloves.
