What is the budget for the blank and the build?

What current fly rods do you like (action and feel)?

Personally, the 9' 8 wt St Croix SCIV is wonderful for me. That is one of my favorite rods just to cast (and in the salt you're casting a lot). I have the 10 wt and it has the same feel, just bigger.

Thanks,
Rick

I'm planning on building a new Bass stick later in the year on TFO TiCRX #8 blank.

I have the #10 which i use for Pike and it's great. Maybe not to all tastes, but it casts a very long line and plays fish well, and is very reasonably priced - what more can you ask for?

Cheers,
Greg

Would just like a good rod as cheap as poss, so thought by building my own could possibly have a £250 rod for say £150, and I can say I built this!!

At the moment my favourite rod is my 9ft 6# Guideline LRXe, it suits my casting style nicely, but can't warrant spending that sort of money on a rod for bass yet.
