Default Cane rod wraps and varnish

I have a cane rod on which the varnish is starting to bubble and lift on some of the guides. Can I effect a repair without re wrapping as the tightness and colour are still good - if so how best to remove the old varnish?

Also what varnish is recommended?

Thanks

Nicko

Hi it sounds like you will need to take the whipping off and start again.
Its always a problem if you start to patch it up it aways shows nicko.
