Looks good, nice job. I just finished a 7' 6" 4wt. Very rewarding don't you think.

Chris.

This is my third build Chris I wished I had started building when I first started I would have saved quite a lot of money....
I really enjoy these projects. I built the first z-axis after a custom rod builder messed me about and then built my first batson on a 5'6" 3wt and built this one on a whim for something to do..
Trouble is I have more rods than time to use them.....
I will need to re finish the butt end description I had a mild sag on the epoxy coat. applied a tadge too much...
A little sanding and a little re wrapping.
I have also got the original blank decal from Batson.
Re finished now.. Still has graylinghunter as above on reverse side...

I had lost the originals last week
Batson team sent me one out Air mail on 25th March and it arrived 30th.. Top customer service....
The other rod builds from start to finish are Here... http://graylinghuntertalk52985.yuku....1/Rod-Building

Hi there, I am looking at building one of these blanks, not sure to go 6'6 2 wt or 7'9 3wt yet. Who did you source your blank from? Tried direct from batson but they only retail to trade. Did you use a plastic winding check? What size winding silk did you use. How do you rate them on the whole, a good blank for the price or equally as good as an off the peg mid priced rod. I have not heard any builders not rate them yet.

looks pretty good. I have the 6'6" 2 wt in green and 2 pc. Nice little rod.

orvister,

which one did you pick? If you're interested, I have both here that you can cast. I don't know where you are in the country though.

Thanks,
Rick
