Default Made a big mistake what to do

started to glue up the butt seat and handle theis afternoon and just before I was going to start with the glue I discovered that the tape arbours I have made on the inside of the reelseat are out of micropore tape which I lifted by accident, should I cut the off and start again with masking tape or will they be ok?

The seat is aluminium and the tape is actually used for securing dressing and things over cuts and wounds but its like masking tape

Hi Al

Did you leave a space between the arbors and how many arbors have you made??

The seat is 100mm long, I left a gap of 10mm then 25mm arbor then a gap of 30mm then a 25mm arbor and then a 10mm gap to the end of the seat

i think you will be fine as long as you fill all the gaps with epoxy so the tape can't slide or recoil (like a blowing dart) on itself.. Mind you i never handled the stuff but if you glue the gaps and the sides of the tape i can't see why it would not work..

hope i helped,

Jerry
