Default Cork Reel Seat

Hi there,

anyone got an idea where I can get a cork reel seat - sort of like the ones hardy put on their classic range - I don't have a lathe.

Best

Why not contact some of the Cane Rod Makers on this forum? they can point you in the right direction.

Exclamation Easy.

Google "Anglers Workshop" in Woodland, Washington. TONS of everything you could dream of .. but why not? Three (or is that four) major rod builders are located in that small spot on the map.

This look calls for really good cork otherwise it looks rubbish

REC PLRN Nickel Silver Reel Seat with cork insert - eBay (item 120647712845 end time Dec-14-10 18:50:12 PST)
- add a regular cork cigar grip (but not the 'one piece' look)

FLY ROD REEL SEAT nickel silver cap & ring hardware - eBay (item 110611339646 end time Nov-21-10 18:17:32 PST)
-this chap might make you something up and his postage is reasonable

Or you could approach one of the builders on this site, maybe a bamboo guy and see if they'll turn one for you. You'd need about £20 worth of flor/CG2 cork rings.

There is a crowd called Kettle Creek Tackle that do (sell I suppose) them as well but I haven't found a web site yet.

A chap called Joel Lemke also has a reputation in the reel seat world but again I can't find a website.
