Important - Signal Crayfish in Dore
There has been a confirmed report of signal crayfish in the Dore near Peterchurch. They have already had an impact on the native white clawed crayfish and the plague which is lethal to the native crayfish can be carried on tackle so to protect the rest of the catchment as far as possible please take care to disinfect tackle and clothing if you fish the Dore and try to preserve the native crayfish in one of their last strongholds in this part of the World. This is especially important if you plan to fish other streams on the Monnow catchment.

There is a blackbird on every thorn and a cock chaffinch, a twink as they call him there, on every bush...... It moved me profoundly. I had been spared to see another spring, and I thank God for it.”
