Exclamation Annual Auction III 2009. Important information

Well... it is that time of year again... slightly later than usual, but hopefully bigger and better than ever, it is time for our annual fundraising auction.

Last year the auction was held on the fish and fly auction site, and it was a tremendous success, raising nearly £3.5K for the river. All of these £'s have gone directly into habitat restoration work on the River Monnow system, overseen by the indefatigable Cranefly and supported by a marvellously dedicated team.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Monnow and her tribs, check out the rivers forum and look back through some of the links and reports. She is a beautiful river with some great fishing. Now then... whilst the recent Monnow Improvement Project accomplished a great deal, there is still much more to be done in terms of securing the rivers productive future; hence our annual auction.

What has really made the auction a roaring success over the past couple of years really has been the number of lots donated by Forum members - we have had flies, fishing days, unlikely booze items and all sorts of other piscatorial goodies which helped us more than double our usual total. This year is no exception and we have got some corking lots on offer.

It is a big ask I know, but if you would like to donate a lot, then please let me know either by pm or by posting on this thread.
All The Best - in anticipation

AUCTION RULES:

1.All the proceeds from all the lots sold will be administered by the MFA for the benefit of the river Monnow.

2.All lots have been freely donated for this cause and thanks are due to the generous donors. The Monnow will repay!

3.Bidders are reminded that their offers should reflect the charitable nature of this auction and should please bid generously and not seek to acquire bargains!

4.Successful bidders should be aware that their visits to others’ fishing are undertaken at their own risk.

5.This online auction will close at 12:01 am on Wednesday 18th November. Thereafter the MFA Auction will be completed at the Annual General Meeting at Kentchurch Court on Wednesday 18th November at 7:30pm. At least year's AGM, very few items were outbid from the online auction but for the anxious...

** IF YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT BEING OUTBID ON THE NIGHT FOLLOWING YOUR ONLINE BID ON THIS FORUM, PLEASE PM YOUR MAXIMUM BID TO MYSELF OR CRANEFLY AND WE WILL TREAT IT AS CONFIDENTIAL AND BID UP TO YOUR MAXIMUM ON YOUR BEHALF ON THE EVENING**

6. Successful bidders will be contacted directly by the MFA following the closure of the auction.

Happy Bidding!

I'll bump this to the top for information again. Though it'd be good if Admin would turn it into a sticky.

Seconded, a lot of time and effort from Tigermoth alone, on the lots.
Good luck with it all, and one day I might come and fish this water.!!

Thank you all so much for making the 2009 auction such a success.
I won't steal TM's thunder and will let him tell you the gory details - suffice it to say - a brilliant total achieved.

I can assure you all that the funds raised will be put to good use (they are probably worth x 9 as match funding!) and will further improve and protect our precious river Monnow.

You really are a generous lot and I look forward to seeing some of you at next year's social.

thanks again

P
