Cheers Jim! Though I have to take my hat off to Mr P for his diligence in tracking the lots and doing the totting up tonight.

£3.6K is a really significant amount for the association, and we will use it well. I'm sure that CF will be along to give an overview of where peoples well spent pounds will end up - geared and match funded we hope - to do more derring deeds on the river.

This is the fifth year we have run the auction online, and over that time the followers and supporters on this forum have swelled in number, and through thick and thin, continued to be unstinting in their support for our wonderful river. A great example of what can be achieved through shared passion and a committment to making a difference.

The Monnow is so fortuneate on many counts. Firstly; to have such wonderful support from donors and bidders on The Forum and from The Forum for letting us run this auction it is very much appreciated. Secondly; a great team who work so hard and give their time freely to make the MRA work to such great effect and, thirdly, our funders and supporters such as the EA and the local fishery owners.

We are still able to highly gear the money raised by your generous bids and this will enable us to carry on with vital, and often unique projects and works that will: introduce schools to Mayfly in The Classroom and Casting in Schools; eradication of Himalayn balsam and other INN weeds and keeping up our mink free status, among many other things that you can keep up with on our website www.monnow.org.
