Owdo all my names Boyd and it's been three weeks since my last..... oops wrong forum... Back at this fly fishing lark after 20 or so years although I've never really been away as I've been coarse fishing and carp angling throughout this time. I've done 3 sessions in the past month one on the Etherow at Tinsle had a few small brownies and missed a lot more. One on the Goyt in Brabyns park Marple had a couple of small Brownies and a Grayling of about half a pound and missed a lot more( pattern beginning to emerge) and a evening on Arnfield trout fishery had four two blue's and two rainbows biggest around 4lb and you got it i missed a lot more...... Well that's me then

Welcome to the forum. I think every angler "misses" fish, but at least you are getting offers. It may be that you are striking too quickly and not connecting/setting the hook, try lifting off more slowly when you get a take.

You will get better as you gain more experience. Good luck in the future and the more you practice the luckier you'll get
