Default Hello from sunny Lancs

Hello, thought I would finally sign up after a couple of months using this fantastic resource!

I'm Alex from the Ribble Valley in Lancs, a relative novice to fly fishing although I did thrash a line around a few times a couple of years back - amazingly even catching a couple - but I've recently taken up course fishing again which has inevitably led to me dreaming about catching the troot again too

In anticipation of starting in the new season I have started learning how to tie what I intend to be fishing (mainly playing around with buzzers and emergers so far) as I've still a bit of stuff left from me mucking about with it last time. I have to say a huge thank you to all the posters in the fly tying section on here who have educated and inspired me with their simple instructions, fantastic photos and obvious talent.

I probably won't be asking many questions, as the search button has proved to be more than a match for anything I have wondered about so far, but I will no doubt be taking advantage of the brilliant deals offered by trade members almost immediately

Thanks for reading, tight lines!

Hi Haddock,
and welcome neighbour! I too am a relative beginner to fly fishing (18 months) and tying (4 months). Noeyedeer has been helping me with both.

He's a good teacher in that he lets me catch twice as many fish as him and he boosted my confidence in my tying when he caught his PB Rainbow on one of my Apps Bloodworms.

Hope to see you out and about when the ice melts.

SharkeyP
