Default Just a quick introduction.

Hi everyone,
I have been browsing the forum for a couple of weeks and decided it was time I joined it.

I am amazed by the amount of information and knowledge that is available.

I have been fly fishing since 2007. Rather than try and teach myself I decided to take 5 days instruction with an approved fly fishing instructor. I was luckily enough to be taught by Tom Hill (based in Devon area) and spent my first week fly fishing instruction on small still water and the river Teign. Since that initial weeks fly fishing instruction I have become hooked.

I now fish mainly rivers and streams around my local area. I am luckily enough to have a cousin whom is a games keeper for a couple of private stretches of river around Dorchester, so spend a couple of days a year fishing there.

I have recently become very interested in the concept of spey casting with a single handed fly rod. Some of the rivers I fish has limited back cast, and I think adding a few spey casts to my limited armoury would be an added benefit.

I hope I can bring a little bit of help to others on the forum.

Kind Regards
speyuk

Welcome speyuk. You did the right thing getting some instruction before you started flyfishing.
Lots of information & advice on here, we are a very friendly lot, most of us anyway.

welcome speyuk. I came back to fly fishing the same year you took it up after not doing any type of fishing since 1979 when all my tackle was stolen. I love it, too and am still learning-even though I touched my first fly rod way back in 1955!
