Default Bivvy boy turning to Fly Fishing

Hi,

I am a Carp & course man currently living in Surrey with my bivvy, rod-pods and buzzers but we are moving up North to Scotland, 8 miles West of Peebles to be exact and I think it's time I had a go at Fly Fishing considering the location!

I'm sure I will be asking lots of noob questions (after having a good search for existing threads of course ) and I look forward to learning lots over the next 40 years.

regards,

Hedley

hi hedley

I started out as a carp angler and my father inlaw who is mad about fly fishing told me to have a go and i did now i catch just about everything on a fly marseer carp oh trout as well lol but you can catch alsorts on the fly mate every one who likes fishing should try fly fishing its b00ldy great i like fly fishing from a float tube its the best way to go after your first 4 trips you start to enjoy the fishing better as you have to learn to paddle proply first so enjoy your fishing you,ll be in one of the best places to do it.

welcome to the madness-love it and so will you when you find out how much easier it is to catch most of the coarse fish you caught on coarse fishing gear on a fly! Enjoy.

you'll only be an hour up the road from alderneuk... there is an instructor in the area that uses it a lot for her instructing... real nice place... friendly as hell... free tea and coffee... and good banter... maybe see you there in the future...

Thanks guys.

Hopefully meet up with some of you over the years. I'll be the one either thrashing the water to death or trying to pull my fly out of a tree.
