Default Checking in from Rangiora NZ

Hi there,

Decided to dig out my old fly rod (Purist Full Carbon 1768-270, can't seem to find any info re this on the web?) and order up a new reel (Okuma Magnitude MD 7/8) off eBay and look to getting some new line, flies, lures, backing line, leader loops, etc, etc . . . ) and go fish the upper reaches of the Waimakariri River some time soon.
Any advice re what would best fit my shopping list (above) realizing that I'm a rank amateur would certainly be welcome.

Eric

Hi Jim,

Yes, should have mentioned that - incidentally, looking at Cortland 444 Classic Peach floating in a WF6, any suggestions?

Eric

Welcome aboard. Pitsford Pirate on the forum does lines at reasonable prices.

Hi Jim,

ATFM 6-7, so I was planning on getting a WF6?

Seen all of the excellent comments on this forum re Pitsford Prate's lines- perhaps I'd be as well off starting with one of his? Actually dropped him a PM yesterday asking what he'd recommend I order.

All / any advice gladly welcomed.

Eric
