Default newbie

hi folks

Im Neil frome Teesside. I have never fished before but always wanted to give flyfishing a go. Im always fascinated watching others and decided its time to try it out. I had no intention of buying anything yet but found myself in possession of a rod and reel courtesy of ebay....oh well gotta start fishing now hehe. Im hoping to start at the beginning of the season and look forward to learning plenty from you experienced fishers.

thanks for the welcom. Looked into instruction think narrowed it down to 2 choices one from lockwood beck and one from fishingwithtom. Im thinking its a little late to start for this season so will start when season starts up again. If i understand right not long left to fish ends in october or at least in scaling dam where i plan to start

Hi gar thanks you may just regret that offer lol. May i ask where you fish where the good local spots are. I know theres scaling dam and lockwood beck. Redcar Angling centre said Lockwood is better, better fish. TBH im not bothered about the fish at the moment just need to get the basics down first learning to cast etc. Who would you reccomend for casting lessons??
