Default fly virgin...

Hi everyone,
I've been "visiting" for a while & there seems to be quite a bit of healthy banter, and helpful advice so I thought I'd join in and hopefully gain a bit of knowledge.
I've fished on and off for about 30 years now, originally course at the age of 13 with my stepfather. I remember sitting there thinking there's got to be more to fishing than just chucking a line into a pre-baited swim and hauling what seemed like a tun of gear then sitting on a basket waiting for a float to go under or the bite alarm to start bleeping ! I then started dabbling with spinners and a seed was planted, this was more like it. After a break from fishing for a few years I moved into lure angling, throwing lure's from 1g ultra-lights to lumps of jerkbaits of around 200g. I was instantly hooked, this was fishing ! But still I knew there was more...more out there... I'd always fancied having a go at fly fishing then one day I was surfing the net and came across UK saltwater fly fishing and that seed has started to grow... or the angler has evolved ? So hello one and all.....

Chris.

Add my welcome from 8 times zones to the West. Same question posited above, what area(s) do you usually fish?
