Hi everyone!
Just took up fly fishing after many years of sea fishing. Catches getting less and less in the sea around here so decided to try another aspect of fishing.
Had my first trip to the local fishery today with a friend from work who's been fly fishing for a few years now.
Plenty of fish in the water but none on the end of my line! Got my head around the casting technique - took about an hour before I was comfortable with it. Bit different from blasting 1/2lb of bait and sinker to the horizon!
Just makes me more determined to keep it up and start catching fish.

Welcome I too crossed over from the dark side last year. This FF lark is simply fantastic, expensive, but pure magic when it goes right. There are still times when I long for my bass rod when something's rolling about on the surface 50yds out mind you

Welcome Mate-we all start somewhere-usually it's coarse fishing-luckily for you it was saltwater which I haven't experienced now for 41 years-MY God is it that long!? You'll enjoy this forum and you'll get lots of help here.
