After spending 99% of my previous fishing on lakes for carp, pike & general bits I have decided to get into fly fishing on both rivers and lakes.

I'm based in the richmond/darlington area and have recently joined thornaby AA which also entitles me to fish ATDAC waters, including:

Tees at Piercebridge and Croft

Swale at Reeth and Catterick

Ure at Kilgrim Bridge

Gilling West mill lake

I'm confident at basic casting and have a 'cheap' setup to start with. Am looking to target both trout and grayling with a view to catching some proper wild fish.

Any advice, info or general tips would be grately appreciated
