Default Another Scot saying hello

Hi,
Just thought that I'd introduce myself before posting elsewhere on the forums. I've been fishing most of my life mainly for trout and salmon in rivers and stillwaters.
I used to fish three or four times a week but I'm lucky if I manage that number of outings in a year now. LOL how things change!
Planning to do a lot more this year though, and i'm hoping to get my 9year old laddie fly fishing by the summer. In time I'll teach him the fine art of fly tying and he can take over as I'm finding out my eyesight ain't what it used to be. . Cheers.

Hello Striding Man,

seems lots of us have some eye or sight problems. As long as we can catch'em and see our, I personally don't mind
Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas. Looking forward to the new season. Looks like the winter is finally giving way to spring. Won't be long now till we can feel the sun on our backs.
Cheers.

Hi,
I live in Dollar in the wee county of Clackmannanshire. I used to do most of my fishing in the lochs and rivers around Stirling, and put a lot of hours in, usually fishing four or five times a week. I did most of my river fishing on the Allan Water and practically lived on it when the Salmon runs started.
Loch fishing was mostly on North Third reservoir and the Lake of Menteith but I've fished all over the place.
These days the pace is a lot slower, don't seem to have the same time now, but planning to get out more this year.
Pleased to say that I don't seem to have lost my touch though, and still enjoy my fishing the same way that I did when my grandfather got me hooked 40 years ago.

Cheers.
