Smile MMMmmm Never done it before.....

Evning all.

As the title on this intro thread sais, ive never fly fished before but im doing my homework and starting to get some tackle together ready for early next year.

As a teen (many years ago) i used to course fish. And in more recent years ive been doing as much sea fishing as possible but living in Bedford am almost bang in the centre England so the nearest bit of sea is just over 100 miles away.

So i have decided i would like to learn the fine art of Fly Fishing. To be honest been thinking about it for over a year now so feel its time to do something about it.

Been to a few local tackle shops and had a look at a few rods n reels just to see whats out there, read a few books just in preperation for the new year.
But think il try and get a little bit of tutoring to start with to figure out the tecnique of casting and learn the things that books just cant teach.

Chances are, il be asking a few obvious questions but please bear with me, i havnt even flung my 1st fly yet.

Thats about it for now.

Rich

Welcome to the forum Rich. And your going to need to be .

This is a good place to learn. I thought I knew a thing or two about fly fishin' but no-absolute novice really. Since I've been on here my knowledge about all sorts of fly related stuff has quadrupled. Didn't say I can rem did I . Just ask and rest assured help will come. It's just an extended family .

Welcome Rich. Sounds like your pointed in the right direction. This forum has tons of information, skilled anglers and fly dressers as well as a few odd balls. Make friends with the folks in the tackle shop and join a club, that should help with the learning process. Best of luck

Default Forgot to add to the above.

One thing to try out is the 'search' function above and you'll find a wealth of info in the archives. Not suggesting you hold back on a question, but I've found it to be a good place to look to help formulate a question I want to bring up to the Fora.
