This is a unique experience to fly fish the unpopulated and rarely fish flats and reefs of the Pacific that Fly Odyssey has been working on developing a liveaboard trip for the past 3 years. The trip will be exploring three remote unpopulated coral atolls in French Polynesia. This will only be the second time that these flats have seen anyone with a flyrod. Our explorations to these areas in the past have found some excellent flats fishing for bones averaging 6 lb and fish exceed in 10 lb in weight were not uncommon. The diversity of the species available is huge and the boat used has been specifically built for exploration of fly fishermen into remote Pacific locations.
The boat is a 16 berth, 82ft catamaran full service that is equipped with 4 flats boats. Trips will be exploratory in nature so some saltwater experience is desirable. Group sizes will be a maximum of 7 anglers with an experienced trip host.
French Polynesia (Tahiti) combines bonefish, milkfish, giant, bluefin and golden trevally, humphead wrasse, triggerfish, flats fishing with the opportunity of bluewater fishing (wahoo, yellowfin, dogtooth) within 5 minutes skiff ride.
