Kamchatka 2010
Five places now remaining
Kamchatka in Russia is probably one of the last unspoilt fishing wildernesses. From the 7th to the 14th August 2010 Frank Williams Fly Fishing will be hosting a weeks fishing trip to the Voyampolka River in partnership with Larry Bryant from Fishinginrussia.com. This trip will be the fishing adventure of a lifetime. Early August is the best time of year to catch the huge rainbows that reside in this unspoilt wilderness river using dry flies. These rainbow trout are on average 22-27inches, from 5-8 pounds, and there is always the chance of an exceptionally large fish up to 30 inches and 10 pounds. Frank Williams is an APGAI qualified Game Angling Instructor and will be available throughout the trip for help, advice and tuition.
The trip will include a full 6 days fishing on the river.
We will travel to the headwaters of the river by helicopter where we will set up camp. Over the next six days we will cover up to 60 miles of the pristine river fishing for large wild Russian rainbow trout. There is also a chance to catch Salmon, Grayling, Char and Steelheads.
About this Trip: This will be a float trip; fishermen will wade while fishing each day while the crew follows behind. If you get tired, just hop into the raft with the crew and take a break, or you may float down with the rafts and fish when you like. The Voyampolka is a virgin river and is seldom fished. While on your float trip you will never see other fishermen, boats, or airplanes. Our two cooks will prepare all meals and our guides will set and break camps each day. We will use a new camp site each night and, during the day, travel over 10 miles of virgin waters putting you onto some of the best wet and dry fly fishing in the world. Imagine; after dinner, just as the sun sets, ending your day catching one of the huge rainbows as it rises to your dry fly or, early in the morning, while you are having coffee, you could be catching the fish of a lifetime before you have had your breakfast. What a start to the day!
Showers: we have a porta-shower for the use of the fishermen.
For sleeping: we have large 6 man Cabelas outback tents which we will use to sleep 3 people in each so that everyone has plenty of room to change. There is even room to stand up. These quality tents will keep you dry no matter what weather comes along. We supply our fishermen with self inflating Cabelas air pads to sleep on and will provide cots on request.
All cooking and eating is done in screened tents. Our day starts early on the Voyampolka. The cooks will have breakfast ready shortly after day break and afterwards get the fishermen on their way down river. Two of the guides will follow the fishermen and the others will break camp and catch up. The cooks will move ahead and have a shore lunch waiting for you down river.
Safety: Kamchatka, Russia is very remote and we take every measure to ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable trip. We have a Motorola Satellite Phone and GPS on every trip. If there is ever a problem we can have a helicopter within a few hours right into our camp no matter where we are in our float trip.
The cost of the trip is £2700. This price is based on early booking and may rise depending on the cost of the flights. Spaces are limited to eight people.
What is included in the price? R/T coach class air fare from the U.K .to Kamchatka Russia via Moscow, full Russian camp crew and guides, all foods, all travel while in Kamchatka Russia, fee for entry stamp to Russia. Also included is a 7 day fishing licence and 6 days fishing the Voyampolka plus tuition if required.
This package does not include: Visa, travel insurance, alcohol, cover for any delays due to weather, extra baggage fees, gratuities to staff or any side trips.
