Mexican Grand Slam adventure
In May 2010 I will be in Mexico hosting a fly fishing trip to Punta Allun Ascension Bay on the Yucatan Peninsula. This represents a great opportunity to experience the world of tropical flats fishing at a great price.

The Fishing .
Ascension Bay has been synonymous with quality flats fishing for decades. Your chances of landing that elusive permit are as high as you are likely to find anywhere on the globe. The grand Slam credentials are excellent provided you visit at the right time of year. Many Northern Hemisphere based anglers travel to Mexico in the depths of our winter lured by winter deals. A break from the cold is always welcome but if you want a good chance of Tarpon and a Grand Slam then May would be a far better time to visit. Once you hit June and July the temperatures in Mexico can become stifling.
Permit are obviously high on the wish list for any visiting angler. Casa Blanca and Punta Alun will offer the best shots. There will also be plenty of bonefish to keep you amused . Tarpon , Baby Tarpon and Snook will be on the agenda also.
Prices are based on 2 anglers per boat and room and include all meals, air-conditioned rooms, and flats fishing . Not included is airfare( £ 500 approx ) , transportation to and from the airport, alcohol and tips.
