Default Brown Trout River Fishing April

River Brown Trout fishing trip Monday April 4th – Friday 8th 2011 with guides Gwilym Hughes and John Higgins based in Newbridge, Co Kildare, Ireland. Rivers // Liffey / Slaney / Nore / Erkina / Goul.

In a small group of 3 Anglers

(Rod has become available for this trip, a cancellation due to unforseen circumstances)

Details:

River choices to suit weather conditions.

Rivers // Liffey / Slaney / Nore / Erkina / Goul
Plan is to fish at least 3 rivers over the 5 days.

½ day Monday

Leave Holyhead on early Fast ferry to Dunlaoghrie and on to Newbridge in County Kildare, arriving at ‘The Gables’ hotel around lunchtime, book in, meet ‘John Higgins’ our Guide and fish the River Liffey ½ day.
Evening meal and refreshments at Newbridge.

5th meet Guide at The Gables fish the River Liffey. Packed lunch and fish on.

Evening meal and refreshments at Newbridge.

6th meet Guide at The Gables fish the River Slaney. Packed lunch and fish on.

Evening meal and refreshments.

7th meet Guide at The Gables fish the River Nore / Erkina / Goul dependant on weather conditions packed lunch and fish on.

Evening meal and refreshments at Newbridge.

8th meet Guide at The Gables fish the River Liffey. Packed lunch

Evening Meal and refreshments Newbridge

9th Depart for Dunlaoghrie AM and sail to Holyhead arriving mid afternoon.

Small group of 3 Anglers, travelling with Gwilym Hughes from Holyhead.

River Liffey runs through the garden at The Gables, other rivers are within 1 hour travelling distance of the hotel.

The Gables hotel has a gymnasium and swimming pool ( just right for you fit young men )

You will need 4/5# 8’ – 9’ Rod, floating line, suitable clothing and chest waders, bring all your flies and leader material a small hand net, travel light!

We can meet in the long stay car park at the Ferry terminal. I will set a time nearer the date.

We can have breakfast on board the ferry and by the time we have finished, Dunlaoghrie should be in sight.

The cost per person will be in the region of £750, I will know exactly nearer the time when everything is booked up.

2 days in, fished the Liffey and Slaney 3 rods 94 fish and tonight it feels as if there is a simmilar number of pints of Guinness. This trip is a must for any discerning 'Brownie' Dry or Nymph fan! another two days to go. Best Fish so far 37 cm.
