Default A day on the Dee or the Don

I am visiting friends in Drumoak (Dee side Aberdeen) on September weekend.
I am looking for one or possibly 2 rods on the Dee or Don for the 26/8/09

I am also willing to try else where in the area if anyone knows any other good spots for salmon or trout.

Thanks

I fished the Don on Saturday.
I had a great day.

Default River Don

Hi Reidy

Glad you had a good day on the Don. Did you catch, was it sunny and bright?

(Suspect your first post was confusing because you put in an August date, the same date as your post.)

Any photos of the river? Just so we can be green with envy!

Trish

Default The Don

I fished the Feterner stretch at Kemnay.
When i arrived on the water the sun was high and very bright and with crystal clear water i was not in with much of a chance.
I seen a lot of very nice Brownies in the 2lb to 3lb mark which got the heart racing.
I landed a couple of small brownies and dropped a nice fish.
Like i said i had a great day and it is no surprise to me that a 7lb Brownies was caught on that stretch a few weeks back.

My only complaint was that the banks are very steap, overgrown and hard going but i guess that means it is not over fished.

As Arnie says " I will be back"
