Default Help needed urgently

Apologies if this seems over - dramatic but I hope I've posted in the correct place. I may go on for some time so please interrupt. I've been loving my fly fishing and learning and growing and all that for 3 years now. Something has taken my eye off the ball, namely an 80 year old Fifie and the work that is needed to bring her back to life for real. The Pansy from Whitehills.

I hope my partner in Pansy isn't lurking but ..... I need to get away for a bit fish. I need to find a Hotel in Scotland with free and easy (bottom of the lawn) access to wild brown trout. I can stay there from Thursday afternoon until Saturday evening. I am furiously googling but a personal recommendation will get me to pick up a phone and sort something out. The 80 quid saved on not having to buy an EA licence will obviously be added to the budget. Salmon would not be out of the question but would need tuition and guiding.

Hope someone can help

Oh and if you fancy something more up market, there is a B&B at the station (I think).

Many thanks Norm, I really want it on a plate though, got a few quid spare as well before throwing the rest at The Pansy.

I'll check out the link.

Cheers

Well if you want a bit more comfort:- the Kingshouse on Rannoch, Scourie Hotel, The Merkister on Orkney, The Crask Inn - Should keep you googling for a while.

Thanks for the suggestions - I travelled westish in the end stayed beside Ullswater. Fished the lake from the bank with no luck, probably started much too late and finished far too early (advice from local fella) Fished the Eamont next day with no previous knowledge so was a bit in the dark and only managed to access a few stretches. Did winkle out 2 little brownies which was a major personal achievement. Left all of my daft flies in the box and fished a few traditional wets and spiders after more local advice, they worked. The old doggy in the back of the smaller tackle shop in Penrith shouted at me which was funny.

Hotel / Inn was rubbish, spent a fortune in the restaurant and kept my cool over the poor service, spent the latter part of the evening chatting and drinking with the kitchen staff outside after they had knocked off - repaired to the bar (11:45) where they were merrily pulling themselves drinks and asked if it would be possible to purchase one.

"We'll need to check with the manageress" (sat just round the corner)
She said no! Unbelievable!

Same thing next night - got back after a fish and a few pints at Pooley Bridge at about the same time. Staff all partying away in the bar, full pints all over, asked if I could have a drink NO!

Plumbing kept me awake for 2 nights and nowhere to sit for breakfast.

I bottled giving the manageress what for when I checked out as well

Thanks for the suggestions by PM as well - much appreciated
