caught my first rainbow today on a dry fly on derwent res what a feeling watching the fish take my fly just under 2lb probably small to what some of you catch but massive to me am buzzing.

Congratulations bigtel, the first of many I'm sure. 2lb is a good size fish, especially for the first one, and caught on a reservoir too.

yeah its a wonderful feeling especially because it was my first time on resevoir with my fly rod after months of practice well worth the effort and heartache this was the shot i needed to get my confidence going.

Nice one, got my first two rainbows today at Witton, loved it after failing to net three last week! Mine were about two pound mark as well.

Well done guys. I have my first rainbow on the fly at Kielder a few years ago & have never looked back. If you get chance have a look up to Hury, great surroundings & they stock blues which give a pretty good fight.
