Default Fly tying info wanted and a question

I fancy tying some of my own trout flies so info required.

Firstly does anyone know of any clubs/colleges etc etc where I could get on a course for fly tying in the North Wales/Chester area?

Secondly I saw this kit on amazon at 1/2 price anyone reckon its a good deal or can you suggest alternatives (1/2 price being £49.99)

Thanks in advance

Kits can be a bit of a lottery depending on what you want to tie. You might end up with a load of materials you dont need.
For classes look no further than here,
The FDG
Have a look at the step by steps on here and Davy Mcphail on you-tube also.

As maharg mentioned the FDG is worth joining, aswell as getting to meet new people and learn techniques at meetings you also get a magazine every few months. Watch lots of videos on you tube especially Davie Mcphail, also dave cammis is the man who inspired me to start tying and his videos are on youtube or on his websit:Learn Fly Tying

I am self taught and I now like to think I am a decent tyer, I bought a kit and found that as you get better you tend to use all the materials eventually.

Frank,

I recently started tying. Best advice regarding kit is to decide what flies your are going to use most of and get a kit to suit. I found it easy to start with buzzers and simple patterns like PTN, Diawl Bach, GRHE.

Grommit, here on the forum put the kit together for me so I got exactly what I needed, it would be worth giving him a call.
