Default Fly Fishing Newb

Hi all, I'm new to the mysterious world of fly fishing.

I hope to fly fish for Trout & maybe try Carp too.

Until last night I had never even cast a line, so off I go to a small field up the road & I surprised myself. I set out my jacket on the ground & walked 10-15m away & gave myself a task of hitting the jumper with the leader loop, something that after 10mins or so I could do quite easily.

My kit is an Airflo Hardwear Pro Carbon 9' 6/7wt rod, with a pre spooled reel I purchased from Ebay.

I've purchased a Shakespeare Odyssey Trout Bag, some flies, have landing net already.

Not the greatest kit I realise, but I'm not spending a fortune only to find I'm no good!

Hi Mark, if you are willing to post a location I would bet there are a few peeps on here who would happily spend a few hours with you showing you the basics.

Welcome Mark

Just keep your snib drobbler presented to your quibble and sply your pippa flink regulaly. Take a good bit of advice and never let your climp snafage the first or second blub.

Hope this helps and when you understand this fantastic sport give me a shout...........

Perhapse you could explain it to me.............
