Hiya Smudger,
I have a set from "Hat Eyes" and they are a bit fiddly but fine. I have switched to using sun glasses with built in magnifiers, much better for me.

This is from their sales description. they sell for around $25
The Hat Eyes clips to your hat brim to take the guesswork out of threading small hooks. High-grade acrylic lenses fold out of the way when not in use. It has a stainless steel clip and frame. Available: 2X, 2.25X magnification.
hope that helps.

Hi Darwin, Thanks for the reply. I'll give hat eyes a viewing and see how they are.

Best Regards

The Snowbee ones are OK, but you have to watch out for the plastic clip.

I use the Orvis version which has a detachable LED light incorporated, couldn't be without it.

I don't think they're prescription but bifocal polaroids they certainly are, go right to the bottom of this page and they are there for £15 plus postage but only available in x2 magnification at the moment

Default already tried Snowbee

Hi Lads, Thanks for the replies. The Snowbee ones are too weak at the joint. I broke mine twice, hence the thread. A big Thank You to all. I might check out the bifocals too. At 47 my family don't call me "falcon" for my eye sight.

Tied too much small stuff, when I was young. I should have given it up really. There's a warning to all you small stuff tiers out there. Buy a really good magnifier for tying, then you won't need clip magnifiers to tie the beaties on when your old. LOL

Best Regards and Thanks

Stuart
