Am off for a days fishing at Canada Lakes near Cardiff next Friday - looks like a nice spot - somewhere to escape having to go with girlfriend to a lunch with her friends!

Anyone fished there? what's it like and does anyone have any advice / tips?

Do you mean this friday coming, I am thinking of going this friday if it is not to windy. ptn's and damsels are very good, a floating line is ok. a good spot is just to the left of the lodge where the water comes in under the bridge. I may see u there.

I have fished there a few times good when working in cardiff. Sucess on dries (para adams/klinks) or if its a bit tough lures do work

Good fishing just before nightfall my favourite area is right of the lodge just before the big tree.

Fish to come in close as well so no need for massive casting (dependent on the weed of course!)

According to the owner there are some elusive big brownies in their to if you can coax them out.
