Default What fishery on my way home?

Hi Chaps,

Popping down to Company HO in Cardiff in the last week of October.

Fancy taking advantage of fishing a new water on my way home and have identified the following (distances & time from AA route finder) :

Avington

Additional mileage - 45.4
Additional time - 1hr

Dever Springs

Additional mileage - 28.2
Additional time - 40mins

Lechlade

Additional mileage - 10
Additional time - 40 mins

Avon Springs

Additional mileage - 24.6
Additional time - 1hr

What would you choose?

Hi Fazzer have you installed the fisheries list into Google Earth if so check out the vast number of fisheries in the area;if you haven't got this installed it can be found from the The Fly Fishers Map web site.

If you are fishing through the week then I would go to Lechlade - I've found the place can get busy at weekends with the known hotspots quickly being occupied. If it's weekend fishing the I would go for Avington - a lovely water that had some justified criticism a while ago for their stock size, who have now apparently taken notice of anglers comments and now improved the size and quality of their fish.

Yes, but the end of october's just out of the stalking season, and with poor light, you're fishing blind. by the middle of November there should be some huge browns going into Lechlade. Possibly try Bushyleaze at end Oct, as there could be some fry bashing going on, and there are some collosal browns in there.

I like Avon Springs, however I would much rather goto Lechlade, Avington or Bushyleaze.
