The £65 ticket at Avon Springs is a "river and lake day" - a 4 fish limit of which a maximum of 2 to come from the river. Or, thinking laterally, you can catch your 4 from the lakes and then have unlimited C&R on a section of a historic beat of the river for £20, the difference between the river and lake ticket and a standard lake ticket.

I do this 2 or 3 times a year, once at mayfly time and then again on the autumn for the grayling, of which there are plenty in the Upper Avon.

When i fished the springs afew years back , the landrover guys were making an F,ing racket, mr grumpy wouldnt give me any advice , what are catching at the mo "flies" what an ********,had to bite my lip or i would have clocked him one, got so angry. then when the wife needed the loo she was pointed to a toilet which was discusting and nearly made her puke, the fish however were good hard fighters, but not sure i would venture there againgaz
