Default Water Knot

Just a quick question. Reading an old book on fly fishing knots I came across the 4 turn water knot. I have always used a 2 turn knot when tying leaders with fluorocarbon. Is there any advantage in using more turns or does it just make the knot more bulky?

personally,I have always used a 3 turn water knot without any problems.Wether or not its down to the type of leader used ,i couldnt say.
But as far as breakages etc not had any problems and bulk doesnt seem any more than 2 or 4 really.
Its really what your happy with yourself and if your not having any problems carry on using what you are confident in.

I have always used a 4 turn as John Wilson uses all the time and if it's good enough for him!

me to ,and its never let me down , even when fishing for barbel including a 10lb 12oz fish and had hundreds of barbel with a two turn and never ever let me down , 4 turns to bulky and will weaken fluorocarbon with it being strangulated ...
