I bought one at the start of the season and very pleased with it. At the same time, I did buy a orvis mid-arbour battenkill for a few pound more and I would rate the Orvis over the Koma. But no complains with the Koma.

I'm on my first season with the Koma+ which is basically the same as the Koma but with some bits machined rather than cast. I reckon it's fab. Got one for my 8 weight originally and liked it so much I got the same for my 5 weight. Bad points...? The only one I can think of is if you need lots of spare lines, the price of spare spools might become prohibitive. If that's an issue then you might be better looking at a cassette type reel.

Default Vision Reels

I've used a Koma reel now for a few years and I think they are superb and even more so for the money, the spare spools are a tad expensive but then you get what you pay for,the Koma is a straight foward working mans reel, it's got a great drag system, it's easy to use and fast to change a spool over, the reels have very wide and deep arbors which can take a lot of backing before you load your lines, I use 2 different sizes depending on the size of rod I'm using at the time.
I'd rate the Koma 9.5/10 -- I don't really know why I don't just give it a 10/10

For the money you won't find much better. Had one for about two years and think it's excellent.
