Default Stocks - B&B recomendations ?

Thinking about taking a trip down to Stocks before the season comes to an end - I know there website has a few places to stay listed, but to be honest i feel a lot of them are a wee bit up market and pricey for what im looking for (typical scotsman i hear you say) I have e-mailed a couple of them and am awaiting replies

I know a lot of you guys on here have fished there and some of you must have stayed over - can anyone recommend anywhere else that i may not have come accross yet ?

Thanks in advance,

Robbie

I live near enough not to stay over but I've eaten at The Parkers Arms in Newton-in-Bowland many times and it's excellent. They have a single room for £47.

Good luck,

SharkeyP

Default Accommodation for Stocks Slaidburn

Hi Robster

I can recommend the Hark to Bounty, Slaidburn, about a mile from the fishery. Accommodation starts around £37.50. Its a good pub and they do food. A lot of Stock's anglers stay there. They have a website A traditional old English Country Enjoy England Three Star Inn situated in the Village of Slaidburn in the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the ideal place for a day or evening out, weekend or longer holiday stay in our en-suite a. I hope this helps. I'm fishing Stocks tomorrow after an absence of five months I can contact you with first hand information on condition and how its fishing if you like?

Ive stayed in the MAYPOLE INN in LONG PRESTON , which is a wee bit away m8 but is clean and tidy and the food is tremendous, always seems to be busy which is a good sign. Its quite late in the year to be fishing STOCKS though I love STOCKS but it doesnt fish as well second half. Not knocking it ,just a fact. Hope this helps

I've stayed here twice early this year, maybe 15-20 min drive away but worth it. Its not a bad place, decent bar and good breakfast.
