I think you mean Thornton Reservoir near Leicester.

The CFF forum run a social every year and it's well worth it even if you don't fish. Here is the link. Everybody's welcome. Ifor Jones (one of the best fishery managers you'll ever meet) is organising it this year. His hospitality is second to none.
