Hi I have been fishing around the Edinburgh area on the local reserviors and there is no Heather flys around yet just wondering if its going to be a bad year for them.

There where some on the Watch last week mate.

Must have been an exceptionally good year for them last year. I've never seen so many in the Sheffield area before. I don't expect to see any this year, that's the way nature works, right?

I was out and about the hills in tayside last week and there were literally thousands of them about
Its only a matter of time i reckon until the reach lower land!

Thats what I want to hear.....

Hardly any around in the perthshire hills though

They are takin there time this year....don't think it's gone to happen...hope i'm wrong though they are usually tailing off around now..maybe the long hard winter.. who knows

What a tourist terms a plague of insects, the fly fisher calls a great hatch.

Was praying for them over the last few weeks to show on the lake for the final on saturday but i think the cold winter this year has been the problem but i might be wrong though.
