Well, what can I say I received this today

My first thoughts were unprintable, so I have composed my self & I will now reply


My website has indeed a small classified on the last page I agree but hardly a commercial site.
I have never knowingly on the forum directed anyone to my website with a view to selling anything
I have never promoted my web site on this forum, in fact I go out my way not to promote it yet Fish & fly deem to think it is “A Commercial” site, yet others sell leaders & flies but because they do not have a website, they "get away" with it.
So they want me to pay £120 per annum for something I do not do? I do not think so, not on.
My Web Site was primarily set up to encourage others that there is more to fly fishing than Blobs Razzle & Dazzle, to fish in the traditional way & to treat our rivers, lochs & more importantly the fish with respect but clearly I have failed in the view of Fish & Fly as it can no longer we accessed from My Signature.
Now wither some jealous trade person has “grassed me up” or just circumstances I really do not know. For a few years now we the forum members have suffered Trade Members blatantly pushing their wares on the “normal forum” In fact if I did not know better I would swear that all these “Thanks You’s” were orchestrated by their friends. At the time I wanted to say something but I resisted being too much the gentleman. I certainly do not want to become part of the back slapping brigade. Everyones your pal when you sell something cheap.
Anyway I digest just wanted my final say on that one.
Now I have enjoyed my time here in fact it at times has been a blast & I have met some good knowledgeable online friends & I know I have helped many by the thanks I have received over the past 6 years
Without being big headed it will be Fish & Fly’s loss not mine. So with that last statement I wish to resign my name from the forum. I wish all the forum members the best & that includes the ones I have crossed swords with over the years. There was never any malice on my part, just different views on how our great sport progresses.

If admin could delete my name & all my posts from the forum that will be fine, quite frankly Fish & Fly does not deserve them. Yes all my posts all 2000+ of them. I would do it myself but would take too long. I will look in now & again as a guest to see what you are up to but as for taking part that has now gone bye the way. So gentlemen I thank you for putting up with me over the years & wish you all the best.

I'd never noticed the link before but I've bookmarked it now as it looks very interesting. I wish I'd spotted it before I went up the fish some wee highland lochs in July. Still plenty to digest for next year.

It's a shame you're away off, but you aren't the first to be bumped like that and I'm sure you'll not be the last judging by some of the summary decisions that go on.

I don't think they will bother much Alan. I received the same request to remove the link to my site. I complied and removed it and removed the reciprocal link from my site to here. I got a thank you and they didn't seem to mind that they had lost an external link to here

Sad news indeed. Why admin continuously make a bloody song and dance about sigs is beyond me. I can say with hand on heart I've never clicked on Highlander's sig (no disrespect meant), so why it remains such a bone of contention beyond me. Possible avenue for income from those who relent? All leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
