Default Very much a newbie to fly fishing

Im a novice when it come to fly fishing, and have spent the last 30 years of my life, course, carp and sea fishing, and seen as im a regular at Raygill Fisheries at Lothersdale on the course lakes, ive always fancied having a go at fly fishing.
So today i kitted myself out with some basic fly tackle and cant wait to have a crack at it up at raygill.
I realise there's always plenty of questions to be asked and answered but i just have a couple for starters.
1- If im using a sinking line and a floating line, what fly's should I use for different times of the year.
2- At what rate of drop does a medium sinking line drop at in the water.
3- Obviously in order of line on a reel it starts with backing, fly line, leader, but where does a tippet come in to it.

1. Depends where you are fishing, ask locally at your water.

2. Sink rate is usually printed on the packaging the line came in, medium would suggest soething like 3" per second.

3. Tippet and leader are more or less the same thing.

Wnere are intending to fish? You will get better answers if you say where you are going to fish.

Sorry didnt see the Raygill part of your post...
