Default Sea trout or brownie

Hi guys just wondering, what are your views. Do you think this is a sea trout or a brownie. I have been told by a few people its a sea trout but im not sure cheers.Click the image to open in full size.

I'd say I'm pretty sure that's a brown trout. Is the water stocked at all? It also looks like a stocked fish.

Despite the ragged fins no its not a stocked fish. Im surprised that on the very polluted irwell where i caught it.

It might not be stocked as such - is it an escapee from somewhere? I don't think its a wild fish, the fold in the dorsal and the rather small tail are not traits you see in wild fish.

as others have said it's looks very much like a brown. I have however caught trout in salt water that looked like very brown but was told they were probably not long out of the river.

Almost certain it's a very nice hatchery grown brown. the fins are a giveaway, but a lovely fish nonetheless

Brown trout. Tails and fins of seatrout tend to go black when they smolt.
