Hi! iv'e used an airflo tld and found it a great seat! it sits a little lower than the lureflsh as its seated on the thwart board. I hav'nt used the lureflash but have heard a lot of people say that it has a lot of sharp edges, ian

Just bought, and used for the first time, the TLD with the ratchet straps underneath. Just perfect for me, but can't do a comparison with the Lureflash as never used one.
Whole day in the seat and no discomfort at all, with the ability to spin 360 degs if you spot a fish you want to cast at.
Cheers, Del.

Used the Airflo seat last friday in an all day reservoir session. Extremely comfortable and highly recommended.

I've had a TLD for years and love it. The only problem is that releasing the ratchets on the straps with cold fingers can be a bit of a problem and I've nearly had to leave it on a boat before now. I solved the problem by fixing it to a thwart board. Unless you are small remember to fix it slightly off centre in the boat as otherwise you'll be cramped for room against the gunwales.

I previously had the version with the clamps but this wasn't great and I sometimes found myself flat on my back in the bottom of the boat. A conversion to the version with straps solved all the issues.

The lureflash seat is the worst bit of kit i've ever bought. False economy i'm affraid.

I got it because i'm a little on the large side......actually, i'm alot on the large side, and the lureflash seat takes upto 22 stone i think.

However, it clearly wasn't designed by a fly fisherman. There are clips that are simply fly line magnets along the base of the seat, the line falls between the two sections of the base, the bag has fallen to bits and i'm going to have to throw it away, the clips that fasten the seat to the base come undone and you find yourself sliding.........

I dont like it one bit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In a serious comp, i now use the wooden boards and just sit on that. Kills my backside but atleast my line doesn't get caught up and i aint worrying about where my line is every time i hook a fish!!!

Apart from that it's brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!

Agree 100% with Sewinbasher - the TLD with straps is great to sit in. Transport and getting it on and off are a bit of a pain but very comfortable and durable.

The Airflo, Lureflash and Rutland ones all look good in concept but are not as comfortable and do not swivel.
