My son phoned up and said"would you like to go to rutland" being as it is nearly 20 years since i had last been i said yes."Whats the weather going to be like" oh theres only going to be a few showers,A FEW SHOWERS we were only on the water for about an hour and the heavens opened up,we had everything rain thunder and lightning and it was like this till about 4 pm.
We started up the north arm maybe a bad choice as the wind was coming from the dreaded north.We decide to fish a floating line,12 foot leader as its not that deep up there.I tried everything in my fly boxes nothing doing but my son put on his favourite flie the klinkhammer bang a nice 4 to five pound rainbow but that was the only fish that was caught.We then went down to the boils for the last hour and between us we caught between us 8 rainbows thank god for the boils.I just forgot how hard it can be on rutland,got up this morning and i ache all over.
