Default A Tale of 2 Suppliers....chalk and cheese

Last Friday I sent a return reel back to Ian Anderson Angling in Morpeth. The following morning, Saturday, Brian rang and said he had sorted problem out....and it turned up in the post on Monday morning. What excellent service.....certainly worthy of business. (Also, over same period, Glasgow Angling did well.

On the other end of the scale....Atkins Angling. A long tale (and a long wait...), but I will not be using them again (I see there are other similar experiences with Atkins in other threads).

Well Done Brian,

Peter

Re, Glasgow Angling, They any good now? They took a bit of a slating on this forum not so long ago! Their reputation was rubbish; and almost anyone who dealt with them was complaining on this forum! Ive not used them; but they do have some good offers on that cannot be matched anywhere else, although, after reading some of the older threads concerning their customer service, I've always been a bit reluctant to give them a try.

What's your opinion of them?

Regards

M

Mostyn, I haven't had many deliveries from Glasgow, but the few I have had have been good....opening post on this thread, mainly in praise of the wrong Ian, mentioned Glasgow.....I ordered sale items from them on-line on Friday and goods arrived on Tuesday. Quite happy with that.

Regards Peter

Celtic Fly craft,
I have had problems in the past but reluctantly ordered some Stroft ABR last week.
I arrived the following day. Good service!

people may like to try "Cudafly" trading as Baracuda -www.cudafly.co.uk - all deliveries are recorded delivery and as i have done, ordered in morning and got next morning after my postman tried to knock the door off its bloody hinges at 7am better than a lot of others inc glasgow angling and sprotsfish. glasgow may have some good offers but a lot of other stuff has gone up with all the VAT

Just to add to this thread: I placed an order with Atkins.. website said it was in stock; turned out it wasnt, which annoyed me. I phoned up and had to cancel the order but they were helpful and things got done quickly. Still not great though. On the other hand.. after not finding the right size with other suppliers, I went direct to Snowbee, and they were excellent, efficient and helpful.
