Didn't know there is a trout fishery on the IOW. Tempted to take my fly rod when I go there on the scooter rally in a few weeks if only I could fit it on the scooter along with the tent & the rest of the gear

Hi mate,
Hope alls well with you, have you thought about having a chuck the salt while your there? It's free and it's easy to pop out for an hour or two, there will be bass around the IOW plus plenty other stuff. Just get some clousers I guess and you should be fine. Should be some lads on here who can point you in the right direction

Hi James - yeah - all good mate, hope its working out for you up there!.........funny you should say that about bass, I bumped into a few bass fishermen on the beach, but they were not having much luck!.........as a general update on the IOW fishery in the link, upon turning up I was a bit nervous that it was going to be a waste of time.......me and dad did 5 hours of catch and release, I must say it was a cracking day and well worth the visit, I caught 3 and my dad had 10.......we found a size 10-12 white shrimp worked well, then we tried a size 8 white humungus.......thats when it all went crazy, we had a couple of 3-4 pounders that fought like crazy.....all fish were fully finned and fine looking rainbows.......in all honesty we were very impressed with the lake and the facilities and the people running it, really nice venue in every respect, will deffo go there again!
