Default Base for Derbyshire Fishing

Usually manage to get to Derbyshire and fish the DRAC and DCAC waters most weekends. However, knocking up nearly 120 miles from the otherside off Leicester.

So I got me thinking about possibly buying a caravan (not something i generally interested in otherwise) and putting it on a permanent pitch.

This would save a lot of travelling back and forth and I would also be able to see a lot more of the other half and get a better mix in my day. Plus I could do a bit of evening fishing during the week and travel straight to work the next morning.

Anyway, does anybody know of a site that is ideally located to the rivers (A 50 tends to be my route in) is quiet, scenic and hopefully has some vacancies for a permanent pitch?

Any recommendations gratefully received at this stage (vacancies or not as I guess I could always put myself down on a waiting list).

Thanks

Taggrac

PS if you know of any delapidated property that is for sale and could be converted would also be interested!

Hi Tag, what an awful decision too make

I've spent years considering all my favorite fishing venues and decided on Wirksworth closely run by Cromford as my best location to re-house. I suppose a caravan wouldn't differ too much from the above places.

Will you be taking any lodgers

Mick

Will you rent a spare bed for me when i travel up from warwick?

Have you thought about contacting the site near wolfscote dale? There are static vans there. Also there is a good site near carsington on topmof the hill. Parsley Hay is a possible option but i hqve never had a great experience staying at the site there.

Not really second properties, but these stood out for obvious reasons ...

Brund Mill, on the banks of The Manifold.
4 bedroom house for sale in Brund Mill The Brund, Sheen, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 0HP, SK17

Or perhaps this place on the banks of The Derwent: 3 bedroom character property for sale in New Bridge, Calver, Hope Valley, S32 3XT, S32

Bankside cottage in Milldale is still for sale, just a stroll from The Dove. : 3 bedroom detached house for sale in Bankside Cottage, Milldale, Ashbourne DE6 2GB, DE6

Mike H - Thought of the wolfscote dale one but I have always come across noisy kids when I have been there. Might have just been unlucky. Will pop in and have a look next time I'm up there.

Arthur the 1st one isn't expensive enough, the second one has too many bedrooms and the third is too faraway from the road

Think I'll buy a lottery ticket tonight - that 1st one is stunning!
