What's in the news - Glasgowgangland.com

"A 31-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was attacked while he was fishing in the outskirts of the east end of Glasgow.

At around 9.45pm on Tuesday night he was fishing with two friends at a pond known locally as The Puddle near Gartloch Road when he was seriously assaulted.

Emergency services were called and he was taken by ambulance to Monklands District General Hospital where he is being treated for a serious facial injury. Medical staff describe his condition as stable."

THE MORON THAT DID THE SLASHING WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN FISHING, BUT PROBABLY A SMACK HEAD, OR EASTERN EUROPEAN LOOKING FOR AN EASY MARK.

I know that is harsh on eastern europeans, but unfortuneately that is how it is in the cities nowadays. The rape headline on same page, previous to slashing headline, is being directly linked to eastern european immigrants
The area where the anglers were, is one of the less salubrious parts of Glasgow.
Hope the Police nail the fooker before other anglers do.
regards

Pretty shocking stuff.

I think I know the loch / ponds in question. There's a couple of them on Gartloch road as you drive up to the Fort shopping centre. Drove past it a few weeks ago and wondered why you never see anyone fishing there.

Had my own thoughts on the matter which this thread confirms.

Re. what Scratch says about knives, I always carry one while fishing as I feel there's no other more useful tool for the angler excepting a rod and reel.

There was a thread about knives on here a while back and the topic was discussed at length.

Knife a justifiable tool?

Hope they nail you for racism too. Disgusting. You wouldn't have said that if eastern europeans had a different skin colour would you?

In fairness, Glasgow always had its fair share of violence, long before the eastern europeans arrived....
